Our great lives

Synopsis

Margot, Jérémy, Salomé, César, Sonia... They range in age from 18 to 50. Everything separates them, except the urgent need to rebuild and restore the relationship with others that addiction has destroyed. Their only rules are sharing, honesty, authenticity, sincerity and humanity. It's the story of a bunch of incredible living people who are adamant that we're better off together than on our own.

It's a fiction bordering on documentary. To tackle a subject as difficult as the resilience of a drug addict, director Fabienne Godet (Une place sur terre), a psychosociologist by training, wanted to get as close to the truth as possible. And to immerse her actors, with whom she gradually built the script, in almost real-life conditions under the guidance of a real therapist, Régis Ribes, the only non-professional actor in the film.

For two hours, we follow Margot (Julie Moulier), a young girl from a good family damaged by drugs, on her journey back to life. The 12 weeks she agrees to spend in a specialized community to get better.

A veritable hymn to life and solidarity, it's not so much about addiction and drug dependency as it is about the bond with others and how it helps to repair and rebuild.
