Rules – Festival Imagésanté 2025

1 – Objectives
The main aim of the Liège International Health Film Festival, Imagésanté, is to promote health education and information through audiovisual media.
Imagésanté also stimulates the creation of new, innovative, high-quality audiovisual documents, both nationally and internationally.
Another aim of the Festival is to showcase current developments in new media, medical informatics and imaging in general.
Imagésanté is 5 days devoted to new therapeutic techniques and resources, research findings, prevention and, of course, health education for all, all through images.
2 – Admission procedures
Article 2.1
Documents that meet the above-mentioned objectives are eligible for competition. They will be submitted to the Festival Selection Committee, in collaboration with the Médiathèque de la Fédération Wallonie-Bruxelles asbl (Point Culture, Service de l’Éducation à la Santé) and the Faculté de Philo et Lettres de l’Université de Liège.
Article 2.2
The following are eligible to compete:
- Films intended for a medical or paramedical audience produced on or after January 1, 2023.
- Films dealing with a health or health education subject (general public) produced on or after January 1, 2023.
- Films made with the support of commercial companies produced on or after January 1, 2023.
- Advertising technology films produced after January 1, 2023 and exclusively included in the Research & Health selection.
Article 2.3
Not included:
- Documents entered in a previous edition of the Festival.
- Advertising films other than health-related research films.
Article 2.4
Technical specifications for projection :
- Blu-ray.
- DVD (zone 2 preferred; shipping and return costs are the responsibility of the participant).
- Excluded: U-MATIC-NTSC and BETACAM-OXYDE cassettes, mini DVDs, VHS.
- Maximum duration: 120 minutes.
- Films whose main language is neither French nor English must contain subtitles in one of the two aforementioned languages, or provide the film text translated into French.
- If the film is selected for the Festival and the organizing committee produces a French subtitled copy for screening at the Festival, the subtitled copy may be returned subject to payment of a technical fee of €500 excluding VAT.
3 – How to register
Article 3.1
For international documentaries, the deadline for entries is August 30, 2024.
For Belgian documentaries, the deadline for entries has been extended to October 30, 2024.
Article 3.2
The producer or sponsor must be in possession of the film rights or a broadcast authorization.
Article 3.3
All entries must be accompanied by a royalty-free promotional photo in TIFF 300 dpi or vectorized EPS format, or a promotional video teaser posted on YouTube, Vimeo or Dailymotion, to be sent to info@imagesante.be.
Article 3.4
The viewing link and its codes must be valid until 01/02/2025. The organizer undertakes to use them only within the strictly limited framework of the selection process.
Article 3.5
Information on the registration form received before 01/11/2024 will be included in the Imagésanté catalog.
Article 3.6
All delivery and insurance costs must be prepaid by the sender.
4 – Themes & Category Awards
Article 4.1
Film screenings are grouped into categories defined by the Festival’s pre-selection jury according to the audiences concerned and the subjects dealt with.
Article 4.2
A film may be screened in only one category. The author proposes the category in which he or she would like the film to compete. This proposal will be validated by the pre-selection jury and modified if necessary.
Article 4.3
In each category, a Jury made up of specialists in the discipline awards one or more prizes.
Article 4.4
A film may receive only one award, but may be honored with several mentions.
Article 4.5
After deliberation by the juries, the results are announced at the Closing Evening on the Saturday closing the Festival week.
If the film wins an award, the presence of a member of the film crew is strongly encouraged at the closing ceremony.
Article 4.6
The Jury’s decisions are final.
5 – Promotion & Advertising
Article 5.1
Sponsors are asked to grant a transfer of rights for broadcasts by the organizer (Festival website and events) and its partners, for the purposes of promoting the Festival and its winners (among other things, using the film or extracts from the film at events or on television programs promoting the Festival).
Article 5.2
The producer or sponsor is responsible for payment of music royalties, which may be requested by copyright management companies when films are shown (e.g. Internet streaming), as well as for any copyright problems that may arise when the works are broadcast.

6 – Imagésanté video library
Article 6.1
All documents screened at the Festival Imagésanté are included in the Vidéothèque Imagésanté. It may be screened after the Festival, in whole or in part, with the authorization of the Organizing Committee, for non-commercial cultural, scientific or educational purposes.
7 – General information
Article 7.1
Registering a document with Imagésanté implies acceptance of the present document.
