Graduating from the Institut des arts de diffusion in 2001, Joachim LAFOSSE won the Best Short Film Award at the Namur Festival for his graduation film, “Tribu”. In 2004, he directed his first feature, “Folie privée”, and wrote the screenplay for “L’Autre” for Benoît MARIAGE. In 2006, he turned his attention to directing two films: “Ça rend heureux”, starring his favorite actor Kris CUPPENS, and “Nue Propriété”, presented at the 2006 Venice Film Festival and starring the RENIER brothers and Isabelle HUPPERT. In 2008, he directed Jonathan ZACCAÏ, for the disturbing “Elève libre”, which won acclaim at the Directors’ Fortnight.

In 2012, he released a new feature, “À perdre la raison”, a drama based on the true story of a mother who murders her children. In 2015, Joachim LAFOSSE released “Les Chevaliers blancs” starring Vincent LINDON, Louise BOURGOIN, Valérie DONZELLI and Reda KATEB, a film again inspired by reality.
