Synopsis
"It's better to die of cancer than of starvation," says a saying on the beach at Priolo, Sicily. In the shadow of Syracuse lies one of Europe's largest petrochemical complexes. 70 years after the arrival of the first refineries, the region seems to have been abandoned, with poison staining the sky, the water and the earth.
