Steven LAUREYS

Neurologist and director of GIGA Consciousness.

Neurologist and Clinical Professor at the Centre du Cerveau du CHU de Liège, Director of Research at the FNRS, Steven Laureys heads the Coma Science Group and the GIGA Consciousness at the University of Liège. Most of his research work is devoted to the study of altered consciousness in severely brain-damaged patients (coma, vegetative state/non-responsive wakefulness, minimally conscious state, locked-in syndrome), as well as during anesthesia, sleep, meditation and the hypnotic state.
