Many virtuoso musicians began to practice their art during their childhood. It was the case of Mozart, who has shown exceptional talent at the age of 6, even before knowing how to write or calculate. How can we explain such early abilities? Is the musical gift natural? To this day, the gene of virtuosity has not been discovered. However, all over the world, many laboratories are now looking for the secrets of great musicians. What are the biological mechanisms involved in musical perception? Are the virtuosos’ brains different from ours? Can music modify neurons, or even make you smarter? The film "Inside a virtuoso’s brain" is an investigation of latest scientific advances to understanding musicality. By following gifted musicians of different ages and pacing up and down internationally renowned laboratories, this 52-minute documentary invites us to an unique immersion into the musician brain.
