The dynamic and enterprising town of Verviers is embracing the challenges of today and tomorrow. It will welcome the University of Liège, together with its researchers and professors, for a varied programme of activities during the first few months of 2012.
Verviers and Liège are about to break new ground together… The two towns are hardly 32 km apart. Their close proximity is not theonly thing that brings them together… They also have a shared history, as part of the Principality of Liège, of early industrialisation prompted by the same family (Cockerill), the same modern challenges of economic redevelopment and a shared willingness to embrace multiculturalism… Just like Liège, Verviers has produced and continues to produce big names in the arts, sciences and sports, as well as the social, economic and political life of our country.
Live transmissions or retransmissions of medical and surgical interventions.
These operations were accompanied by live commentary and the audience can ask the surgeons questions in real time. The jewel in the festival’s crown for several years and a technical achievement, the live retransmission of surgical and medical interventions from operating theatres and consultation rooms at Liège University Hospital attracts an impressive audience.
They are open to everyone and make it possible to take the drama out of surgery by showing us pictures and providing information.
